Rama does not back down, "hits" Kurti again: Kosovo is losing its
Rama continues his attacks on Kurt

I'm not trying to be smart. I'm sure many of them, including themselves, could be smarter and they are. But I have trouble making fools of people or myself. We cannot lie to ourselves.

Prime Minister Edi Rama has no intention of retreating from the attacks on Albin Kurti. After what we saw in the stadium, it seems that communications are not only zero, but there are attacks and messages from both sides.

On Monday, Kurti will come to Tirana as part of the Berlin Process Summit, but there may not be a meeting between them. At least Rama implied in an interview that he has not planned a meeting with him. On the other hand, he continued with the attacks and blows "below the belt" against Kurt.

" We haven't planned anything like that, I don't foresee it. Anything can happen because in such situations where everyone talks to each other, if there is a space or if the leaders of Germany and France who will be here, will want to talk to them as co-authors of the Franco-German plan that is on the table, maybe it can happen ", declared Rama in his interview on the Inside Albania podcast with journalist Alice Taylor.

Faced with numerous criticisms from the political class in official Pristina, including Prime Minister Albin Kurti and Foreign Minister Donika Gërvalla for his ideas to raise the dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia to a conference level as well as his proposal for the Union of Serbian Municipalities, The Prime Minister had a long but clear answer.

" I'm not trying to be clever. I'm sure many of them, including themselves, could be smarter and they are. But I have trouble making fools of people or myself. We cannot lie to ourselves. What we have done so far as an Albanian community, whether in Albania, Kosovo, North Macedonia, Montenegro, has taught us very clearly that we have made all these achievements by clarifying which side we are on, with whom we cooperate closely and what is our way to improve as an Albanian factor within our countries and throughout the Western Balkans. The path is very clear: working hard towards peace, looking towards the future and not being held hostage by the past. We do not lecture our great friends and allies how they should see the world, but we have a constructive cooperation with them and we always stand by them. This is how we managed until today. What is there to be surprised about? Most importantly, Serbia has lost the war. Kosovo has won the war. History has shown that whoever lost the war is not interested in peace, unlike the one who won the war ", said the Prime Minister.

For Rama, Kosovo should insist on the implementation of the Franco-German plan, in order to achieve what it aims for: final recognition.

" The Franco-German plan is the best deal that Kosovo can get, because it is de facto recognition. It is a tolerant proposition and paves the way for recognition by others. Why don't they encourage it? Why don't they insist? Why is Kosovo not the party that asks you all for this proposal to be made? In politics and in solving something that is in your own interest, it is never a good idea to start digging into the other person's mind. Is the other really interested? Does he really want something? Probably not, and if we were to remove the great powers that are with us and imagine the dialogue only between Serbia and Kosovo, then Serbia probably would not have sat down at the table, but would have done something completely crazy. But the reality is that we have strong support to take a major step towards final recognition. And we are not accepting this? Why? For what reason? The question is not whether they are interested. The question is, are we interested or not? I think they understand that they are very interested in this matter being closed once and for all. How is this done? By losing focus and creating situations or causing situations to be created that then block you, or trying to calm everything down, give a little thing in exchange for something bigger? I think the solution is the second one. It is not science, it is simple logic ", explained the Prime Minister.

According to the Prime Minister of Albania, there is nothing wrong if Serbia would financially support the Union of Serbian Municipalities.

" Serbia has lost the war and there is no place to imagine a military revenge. This is over! Kosovo has been recognized by a community of countries that would never allow going back. Never! Whatever happens! This first. Second, if the Community is created according to the constitutional framework of the Republic of Kosovo and is the result of an agreement based there, then it will not be a space for armed people to come and say they are members of that Community. It will be a space for municipalities to have self-management, to have support from Belgrade. Why not? We have the municipalities in the south and east of the Greek minorities. They would be very happy if Greece would support them financially. Why not? It is important to look to the future and do everything to bring it closer, rather than always thinking only about the past. The past has passed ," declared Rama.
