Prime Minister Edi Rama, in a press conference, made public the decisions that were taken at the Socialists' meeting.
During his speech, Rama also focused on the Mountain Package, where he reiterated the ultimatum to the mayors that if they want to run again, they must bring to the table at least 10 signed contracts for the Mountain Package.
Otherwise, according to him, they cannot run for re-election "even if they have performed miracles."
"We have many applications and we have set a norm, an objective that all those mayors who want to run again, cannot run again even if they have done miracles, they cannot run again if they have not signed a minimum of 10 contracts for the Mountain Package. The moment this path opens, others come more easily. You have heard that this mountain package was made for the oligarchs, but here in Albania there are no oligarchs.
This word was invented by those who have the word kulak stuck in their throats. The Mountain Package is quite the opposite, it is directly related to people who have inherited property and cannot develop it because they do not have the title of ownership. This person benefits from a very fast procedure and then financing. We are in the fourth mandate, which means that many things have not been as they are. Things have improved a lot, this also applies to procurement.
We have gone from the last to the first for public procurement. Services as well, e-Albania has changed people's lives, this is a fact. We have many things to improve that process. It is very important that in this process with the selection of the organization it is not a formal procedure ", said the Prime Minister.
