President Begaj accepted the Letters of Credentials of the new Apostolic Nuncio to Albania, Monsignor Mirosław Adamczyk, wishing him success in fulfilling his diplomatic mission in our country.
The meeting praised the excellent relations between the parties, confirmed by high-level visits, while expressing the common will to further the cooperation and friendship between Albania and the Holy See.
The Head of State emphasized, among other things, that the cooperation between Albania and the Vatican goes beyond institutional relations.
"Achievements in bilateral relations are a strong basis for further intensification of our ties in the future, as well as in further promoting religious harmony," said President Begaj in his conversation with Apostolic Nuncio Mirosław Adamczyk.
Referring to the very good relations between the Albanian state and the Catholic community in Albania, the President of the Republic emphasized that such a climate of cooperation is essential and that these relations serve the purpose of cohesion between public institutions, religious institutions, and the community.
The Head of State conveyed to the Apostolic Nuncio his thanks for the positions held by the Vatican on the Albanian issue, especially towards Kosovo, reconfirming the desire for the recognition of this state by the Holy See as a contribution to security and lasting peace in the Balkans.
