The head of LZHK, Dashamir Shehi, proposed a proportional system for the electoral reform, while he spoke in favor of opening the lists until the end.
During his speech from the Electoral Reform meeting, Shehi said that he is in favor of electronic voting and counting.
"I am for expanding the areas. I would be happy if it became a proportional system. I am in favor of lists that open up to the end. An open list is predisposed that has inside and proportional. Another point that we have asked for is that voting be made electronic. There are doubts about electronic voting here, but I believe that we have had problems with commissioners. This story must end, so we must do electronic voting. It was done in the big municipalities, we should do it in other municipalities, so we need courage.
Democracy is worth spending some money on. 2-3% of the votes and can be counted by hand, but done electronically to remove these atrocities. This is the old history of Albania. Millions are being played through electronics. We need to return Albanians' faith in the institution of voting. This is not done with some patches. Albania is neither China nor Spain, but it is a small country, which is becoming even smaller. There would have to be 2-3 large colleges for Albanians to vote", said Shehi.
