Democratic MP Dash Sula, through a post on social networks, said that the resolution of the European Parliament gives the opposition full rights in its demands.
Sula says that for several months the opposition has been forced to develop its action in an undesirable way as it would prefer to face arguments with the majority.
He further continues that the Resolution approved in the European Parliament gives the right to the opposition and calls on the majority to reflect.
"I wish that the deputies of the Socialist Party do not take double positions in Brussels and Albania", writes the deputy in his reaction.
The MP's full post:
Investigative commissions and participation in the Electoral Reform in fair proportion, rights also confirmed by the EP.
For three months we have been opposing in a way not desired by us, but imposed by the Socialist majority.
We want to face arguments with the government, with the majority, in plenary sessions and parliamentary committees. But these normal methods have been denied to us by an arrogant majority.
What have we been looking for for three months?!
- Establishing Investigative Commissions for specific suspicious issues.
- The advancement of the Electoral Reform, which has been held hostage for 22 months. Changing its composition while respecting the proportionality of representation.
In the face of these constitutional and legitimate demands, we have faced an arrogance. The majority not only does not set up Investigative Commissions, but changes the law unilaterally.
The President, who is supposed to be above the parties, joins in this bias. But this one of ours, as soon as he heard the prime minister in Lezha who said that we do not negotiate on the law of investigative commissions, immediately came out and decreed the approval of unilateral changes.
The Albanian Parliament, which blocked the Electoral Reform for 22 months with a co-chairman of the opposition who does not enjoy the confidence of the opposition MPs, as soon as the Prime Minister said that he will aim for an arithmetic majority, immediately announced the reactivation. So instead of taking into account the majority of the group, the majority chooses itself who will recognize the opposition. (The one that doesn't give 'headaches')
We have been asking for these constitutional rights for three months, but there has been a lack of will from the other side.
But as if nothing had happened in Albania, an old socialist appears in Brussels with an outstretched hand to the opposition for dialogue. Meanwhile, in Albania, this hand extended by this colleague is not visible, since this is probably where the dental problems begin and the hand is needed to close the mouth.
Even in Albania, colleagues from the opposing camp accuse us of being destabilizing, something that is absolutely not fair and true.
The resolution approved in the European Parliament on Monday gives us full rights to the demands we have and calls on the majority to reflect. Below are two of the evidences of the Resolution approved in the EP;
"It emphasizes the vital check and balance function of Parliament, emphasizing the need for commissions of inquiry; recalls that the new law on parliamentary investigative commissions was adopted without consensus; encourages the use of various oversight tools including commissions of inquiry, interpellations and motions with debate, in accordance with legal provisions, to strengthen accountability and democratic governance in Albania."
"It emphasizes the main importance of including all voices from the opposition in the electoral reform process to ensure a truly representative and comprehensive approach; calls for a constructive and comprehensive political dialogue by all parties in fully addressing this issue before the next general elections, to strengthen Albania's democratic parliamentary culture and enable a smooth electoral process"
I wish that the deputies of the Socialist Party do not take double positions in Brussels and Albania.
