Jorida Tabaku

Democratic Party MP Jorida Tabaku has reacted sharply to Prime Minister Edi Rama's announcement to create the National Waste Treatment Operator, calling this a continuation of the government's major failures.

According to Tabaku, this step comes after the major failure of the incinerator project, in which the government has invested millions of euros, while the results are catastrophic and the environment continues to be damaged.

In a reaction on social media, Tabaku stressed that it is a shame for the government that after 12 years of deception and false promises, they are now returning to the solution that the DP had previously proposed, that of using the landfill.

She recalled that the Democratic Party has presented this alternative with official documents and a budget, emphasizing that this was also the choice of the European Union in its progress reports, as well as of the Supreme State Audit Office (SSA) and the Incinerator Investigative Committee.

"Another conference where the "one" speaks, the "two" presents a power point, while the municipalities that have the keys to the straw mark without the right to speak.
Not a word about €430 million incinerator contracts.
Not a word about 12 years of deception that supposedly Albania was cleaned.
Only lectures in suits and collars!
The solution proposed in the Power Point?
Landfill!
And the landfill was the solution that the DP had given 12 years ago, with studies and official documents and a budget. It proposed this again in the opposition. Even the EU in its progress report when criticizing the incinerators, and the KLSH when it did the audit, and even the INcenerators Investigative Commission emphasized it as a fair alternative.
But the government chose the incinerators, defended them publicly, politically and today continues to pay for them from Albanian taxes.
The more beautiful the Power Point, the dirtier Albania becomes!", writes Tabaku.

According to the MP, the incinerator issue is one of the biggest scandals of the current government, causing great damage to the environment and the state budget. She has demanded that responsibilities be taken for the failure of this project and that Albanian tax money be used for real and sustainable solutions for waste treatment.

Tabaku's reaction followed Edi Rama's announcement of the creation of the National Waste Treatment Operator, a structure that will take over the management of the waste system, while criticism of the failure of the incinerator project has become increasingly strong.
