The new parliamentary session starts on Monday, but the issue of Olta Xhaçka's mandate and the opening of Ilir Meta's Security file have been dragging on for more than a year.
The new parliamentary session starts on Monday. The MPs have ended their holidays and will return to normality. This autumn is undoubtedly seen with many developments, while the Assembly is expected to be an arena of debate, especially within the opposition camp, since 3 clans have been created. However, even this parliamentary session has some challenges ahead.
One of the issues that has been dragging on for more than a year is that of Olta Xhaçka's mandate. The minister revealed that her husband is a strategic investor and that he has benefited from property from the state. This contradicts the conflict of interest law, and PD wants to remove the mandate of the deputy. The SP rejected it a year ago, but the opposition went to the Constitutional Court and the latter returned the file, demanding that the DP's request be voted on, and in the end it will be the court that decides.
On Monday, Rama will convene the Assembly and there he will decide on the new government. From there it will be seen if he will sell Xhaçka. If he removes her from the government cabinet, the signals are that she may lose her mandate.
Another issue that has been dragging on for a year is the opening of Ilir Meta's Security file. The Assembly urgently approved a law that would open the files, but for more than a year it is not known where his file ended up.
The Dossier Authority has stopped the ball in the Assembly, as it says that without a request from them, it cannot start verifications. The Law Commission itself has promised to submit the request for other names, but there is no development. Ilir Meta managed to hide his file and it seems that the SP also supports him. It remains to be seen whether the socialists will be remembered this session.
The Assembly will undoubtedly have money and other challenges such as the law on cannabis, betting or the appointment of the Ombudsman. It also remains to be seen if Berisha will come up with a separate parliamentary group, since there is talk of a collaboration with PL. / Pamphlet
