The Special Prosecution Office continues to receive international support. Although politics attacks and anathemas it, the Austrians have also come to its side.
A group of Austrian ambassadors to countries in the region have come to visit our country and met with SPAK prosecutors.
The Austrian embassy says it supports the work of the prosecutor's office, while calling for its independence to be guaranteed. Its support comes at a time when the US has temporarily withdrawn.
" A few months ago, the way was opened for Albania's comprehensive EU membership negotiations. Austria is clearly committed to Albania's EU perspective and is supporting, among other things, the implementation of the justice reform. Thus, the Austrian ambassadors to the Western Balkans region also exchanged ideas with representatives of the Special Structure for the Fight against Corruption and Organized Crime (SPAK), during their conference in Tirana. The independence of SPAK in investigating, prosecuting and adjudicating cases of high-level corruption and organized crime is essential for strengthening the rule of law in Albania ," the embassy announced.
