The public clash between Endri Shabani and Adriatik Lapaj has aroused not only the public's interest, but also the reaction of other politicians who have had clashes or negotiations with the "Albania Becomes" coalition.
Democratic Party MP Dashnor Sula reacted with an ironic post on social media, recalling an episode that directly links him to Adriatik Lapaj. After Berisha left him off the lists, Sula entered into negotiations with Lapaj, but quickly withdrew.
"When you dig a hole for someone else and fall in yourself," writes Sula, linking this to the impasse that Lapaj is experiencing due to the failure of the candidates on the closed list to resign, an issue that is seriously threatening him with the loss of his mandate as an MP.
Sula says that during a conversation with Lapaj before the elections, he was confronted with the same idea: that candidates on the closed list would resign to allow those who won the most votes on the open list to enter the Assembly. But the Democrat MP says that at that time he had asked to place a family member on the closed list, as a guarantee, and that Lapaj had simply asked for “trust.”
" 'When you dig a hole for someone else and you fall in yourself', this is what is happening with Adriatik Lapaj, whom I warned about such a scheme, when he told me that the candidates on the closed list in Elbasan would resign if I ran in this district for the entity he represents. At that time, I asked Mr. Lapaj to put a relative of mine on the closed list and he/she would resign after I won on the open list. Mr. Lapaj wanted me to believe in what is today leaving him out of the Albanian parliament. This shows that the new parties have the mindset of the old parties…. ”, writes Sula.
