The conflict escalates, Shabani responds to Lapaj again: My uncle helped you

The replies between the leaders of the Knitting Initiative and Albania Becomes continue

The conflict between Adriatik Lapaj and Endri Shabani is intensifying. The latter has reacted through a post on social networks, sealing the separation between them.

Lapaj accused him and his uncle of blackmailing him for his mandate as an MP, while Shabani admits that the big rift started from not keeping his word about leaving his mandate.

" 13,500 votes were needed for a mandate in Tirana. Tiku only received 6,436. Without our votes, he would not be in the Assembly today ," says Shabani. He adds that instead of attacking him, Lapaj should thank him, since the coalition put him in Parliament.

In his reaction, Shabani also explains that Zeqir Kordhoni, who is seeking the mandate after the alleged resignation of the candidates on the closed list, was the person who faced pressure and even threats against his family. “ I do not agree with his behavior, but when a person's children are threatened, there is no longer any morality to justify silence ,” he emphasizes.

Further, he criticizes Lapaj for hypocrisy and breaking his word: " Adriatiku said with voice and image that if only one mandate was taken, he would not hold it. But when the moment came, he trembled, " declares Shabani, calling this a betrayal of the activists and the values for which the coalition was built.

" We are not fighting for seats, but for honest politics. And this battle will not be stopped by those who are ready to threaten children for a seat in the Assembly ," Endri Shabani concludes his statement.

Sorry about Tik!

I regret Tiku's hasty statement declaring me an enemy of the class. I should have thought that after Arlindi and Agron, I was the only one left from the youth front.

However, in the public interest, I want to clarify three things.

First, the mandate of the Albania Initiative coalition has never been Adriatik's. Tiku may have learned to appropriate the work of others, but without the votes of the Albania Initiative, or without my votes, he would never have become an MP!!!

In these elections, 13,500 votes were needed to win a seat in Tirana. Adriatiku received 6,436 votes. So, the other 7,000 votes were received by other candidates.

So if we weren't in a coalition, Albania Becomes would be out of Parliament. So instead of attacking me, Tiku should thank me!

Second, Zeqiri has helped Tiku become a man. In these elections, there has been only one man who has publicly declared a commitment to activists and voters, and he is the leader of the coalition.

With voice and image, in some media, Adriatik Lapaj has publicly pledged that if we only won one mandate, that mandate would not belong to him. This statement served to motivate activists to work for the common interest, and not to make Tiku an MP. After the elections, Adriatik trembled, and this was not liked by many of us, including Zeqiri.

Believing that "a man is kept by his word," Zeqiri helped Tiku keep his word and pass the mandate to someone else from his party.

Third, if Tiku is not responsible for his father-in-law, why should I be responsible for my uncle? We have long accepted that responsibility is individual.

And in fact, as the man who signed the lists, and who delayed them until 12 midnight, Tiku bears total responsibility for mistakenly including Zeqiri on the closed list, replacing him with Majlina Ziko. Now he is asking me to take responsibility for a soup he cooked himself!

Zeqiri is a 60-year-old man, and he cannot be used by me or by Adriatiku. He has his own dignity, and when he saw that Adriatiku was playing games, he reacted. While I tried to calm the situation, Tiku chose the path of pressure. And when Zeqiri was faced with threats against his children, he decided not to back down.

To be honest, I didn't agree with Zeqiri's behavior, but when I see how, still without power, these people are willing to threaten your children, I don't know what to say.

At the end of the day, we are not fighting to replace old wolves with young cubs who will kill for power. We are fighting for politics to have another face: one of honesty and keeping our word. And this battle will not be stopped by those who want to grab the chair, but will be won by those who keep their word even when the chair passes them by.
