Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs

Albania's Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs reacted this Tuesday, May 5, by condemning Iran's recent missile and drone attacks on the United Arab Emirates.

According to the official statement, these attacks are considered an unprovoked act of aggression against critical infrastructure, emphasizing that energy facilities have been targeted repeatedly and dangerously.

Albania considers this action a serious violation of sovereignty and international law, while expressing full solidarity with the United Arab Emirates, its leadership and people. Support also extends to partners in the Middle East region.

The Ministry emphasizes that such attacks pose a serious threat to regional stability and that tensions in the Middle East have a direct impact on the security of Europe. In this context, it calls for immediate restraint and de-escalation of tensions, as well as a return to diplomatic solutions to avoid further escalation.

"The Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Albania strongly condemns the latest missile and drone attacks launched by Iran against the United Arab Emirates, which were once again targeted by a savage aggression. These unprovoked strikes on critical infrastructure, including energy facilities, constitute a clear violation of sovereignty and international law.

Albania stands in full and unwavering solidarity with the #UAE, its leadership and the people of the Emirates, as well as with our partners throughout the Middle East.

Such attacks are unacceptable and further jeopardize regional stability. Security in the Middle East has direct implications for #Europe and beyond. We therefore call for restraint, de-escalation and a renewed commitment to diplomatic solutions.

"Albania will continue to work closely with its partners to promote stability, peace and security in the region," the Ministry's announcement states.
