Alesia Balliu, who was not allowed to run for the position of leader of the Democratic Party, and her application was not even considered on the grounds that she is not a member of the Democratic Party, has reacted through a post on social media, accusing Shkëlzen Berisha of directing the attacks against her.
Balliu said that the attacks aim to deny her contribution to the Democratic Party.
In her reaction, Balliu lists the commitments and positions she has held within the party structures, emphasizing that in 2022 she was elected to the Presidency and National Council of the Democratic Party Youth Forum (FRPD), while in 2025 she was appointed political youth leader for the Elbasan region and coordinator in a DP working group for this region.
She also adds that during the years 2022–2025 she represented the FRPD at international conferences, considering it impossible for her and her family's contribution to be denied.
"My family hasn't asked about Enver Hoxha, and I won't ask about his "doctor."
"Shkelzen Berisha, you will have me in front of you in every battle, until the Democratic Party is freed from the clutches of your clique, declared non grata," Balliu writes.
