The deputy of the Democratic Party, Dashnor Sula, through a reaction on social networks, has stated that Albania is returning to the country of retirees.
Sula said that Albania, which a few years ago held the record for the youngest population, today has more old people than young people in 8 out of 12 counties, or in other words, 50 out of 61 municipalities.
According to him, this is a gloomy panorama, although warned, and that on the other hand, the government takes every step in the service of its propaganda and electoral interests.
" At much faster rates than thought, little Albania, which a few years ago held the record for the youngest population, is now returning to the country of retirees.
According to INSTAT, 8 out of 12 counties or 50 out of 61 municipalities have more old people than young people. To clarify: I have nothing wrong with the third age, but it is a problem that with this ratio, the contributions of those who work will not be enough to cover the pensions of the elderly.
As a deputy of the area, I experienced this fact even more when Elbasan County was among the counties with more elderly people than young people.
For several years I have raised it as a concern and I have called on the government to undertake stimulating policies to keep young people in the country, but as the facts show, the calls have fallen on deaf ears.
I have said that without youth, the country has no future and this is how it is proven. Young people have taken the roads of the world, are working and securing a better life outside their country. This means that they have been able to build a good future here as well, but they have been denied opportunities.
Even the few investors who came to Albania in this decade, in the fashion sector, are now leaving because they no longer have workers in Albania.
In Elbasan, Peqin, Gramsh, Librazhd and in the whole country there are no more young people to work to develop their economy and the country.
This is a grim, albeit forewarning, panorama. While the majority and the government take every step in the service of its propaganda and electoral interests. After 11 years in government, he announces that before the 2025 elections, he will increase the salary for teachers, police, doctors and nurses. While at the top of 11 years, there are thousands of police officers who have left, doctors who have left, etc." , said Sula.
