Democratic Party MP Jorida Tabaku has reacted again regarding the economic situation in the country. Tabaku calls on the government to put the economy at the service of the majority and not the minority.
In a video message shared on social media, Tabaku emphasizes that the stability claimed by the government does not exist in the pockets of citizens, but only in the letters of ministries. She adds that the facts show a completely different reality.
"EUROSTAT showed that 55% of Albanian families live in poverty, they cannot make ends meet. 40% of the family budget goes only for food," said Tabaku, adding that this situation is a consequence of high taxes, a 30% increase in prices and the depreciation of the euro, which has hit the middle and lower classes hardest.
The Democratic MP stated that the Albanian economy is increasingly dependent on the construction sector, while sectors that create employment and welfare, such as agriculture, manufacturing and energy, have been neglected.
"The Albanian economy is no longer productive! For every 1% economic growth, employment increases by only 0.1%. This is proof that we have a minority economy, which does not create jobs and does not generate welfare for citizens", emphasized Tabaku.
She called for the country's economic reality to change, placing itself at the service of the majority of Albanians who face the cost of living and economic insecurity every day.
"We must change this reality. The economy must work for the majority, not for a privileged minority that benefits from power," concluded the DP MP.
