Prime Minister Edi Rama is delivering his speech at the "Smart City Albania" event, where he presented the new technology system that will be implemented in our country.
Rama said that the new security system records in real time and sends plans to the State Police operations room for any legal violation.
According to him, these high-end security cameras will also be made available to police officers. He further added that the body cameras immediately transmit the debate to the hall and in case of an attempt to turn them off, the action is immediately signaled.
"This is not a camera project, it is not even a project of surveillance with cameras and surveillance of police forces through reading the camera when the need arises. This is a project that in the second it is put into effect, exponentially increases the police capacity in real time. This is a project that gives the state police a magic eye to see the entire territory in real time. It is a project that helps in an unimaginable way not many years ago to have a chief inspector of the territory who has eyes everywhere. When we talk about the real-time identification of the violator, we are not talking about an identification that comes as a result of the eyes of the police officers who follow the screen, we are talking about this magic eye that sees, identifies, records, and brings it to the eyes of the police officer. While the officer may be watching the traffic, the violator of the traffic rules appears on that screen.
All this information comes in real time and the police then intervene to enforce the law based on this information. There is no need for someone to film a police officer who does not meet the communication standards of a first-grade student, because in real time the body camera of the officer who is arguing with a citizen brings the debate to the operations room. It is impossible to turn them off and on. A turned-off camera is immediately signaled to the center", said Rama.
