Rudina Hajdari commented on developments in the Democratic Party, the figure of Sali Berisha and the debate on the abolition of non-grata.
Asked if there is a figure who can politically challenge Berisha, Hajdari said that the main problem in Albanian politics is the lack of space for new figures and the internal culture of parties, which often does not allow for real advancement of individuals.
" This is a question that is both serious and ridiculous at the same time. I mean, to say today that we can't find someone to fight someone who has been in politics for 30 or so years seems absurd to me."
"We live in Albania, a politics that only deals with those who serve the president, so not many people come forward with the courage and opportunity to move forward ," Hajdari said on "A2 CNN."
Regarding the discussions on lifting the non-grata against Sali Berisha, she stated that this issue is not essential for political developments in the country and does not affect the main problems of Albania. According to her, the focus should be on the fight against organized crime and its impact on society and the economy.
" I am not at all sensitive about this issue. I think it is not an important issue for the events in Albania. The removal of the non-grata for Mr. Berisha is an internal matter of the Democratic Party and is not something that directly concerns the Albanian public ," she said.
