In a letter addressed to the CEC, the Special Prosecution Office informs that the former defendant has been convicted of forgery of forms and an order for the execution of the decision has been issued against him.

SPAK confirms to the CEC, through an official letter, the conviction of the Mayor of Kuçova, Kreshnik Hajdari. The letter, signed by Klodian Braho, head of SPAK, is addressed to the State Election Commissioner, Ilirjan Celibashi, informing him that the decision against Mayor Hajdari has become final, and an order has even been issued for the execution of the sentence.

Braho's letter to Celibashi is a response that SPAK has made to the State Election Commissioner, regarding Hajdar's criminal past.

In the official document, the Special Prosecution Office explains that the criminal proceedings against Kreshnik Hajdari were registered under number 80, dated May 3, 2023, for the criminal offense "Forgery of seals, stamps or forms", provided for by Article 190/2 of the Criminal Code. According to SPAK, after the completion of the preliminary investigations, the case was sent for trial on December 18, 2023. Subsequently, the Special Court of First Instance for Corruption and Organized Crime, with decision no. 06 dated January 25, 2024, declared Hajdari guilty of committing the criminal offense.

In its decision, the court initially imposed a sentence of 9 months in prison. However, pursuant to Article 406/1 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, which provides for a reduction in the sentence in the event of a summary trial procedure, the defendant's sentence was reduced by one third, ultimately being sentenced to 6 months in prison.

In another document signed by the head of the Special Prosecution Office, Altin Dumani, it is confirmed that on February 1, 2024, SPAK issued the order for the execution of criminal decision no. 06 of the Special Court.

According to the document, the court's decision became final on July 5, 2024, which means the end of the legal process and the entry into force of the sentence.

They do not provide further details on the specific circumstances of the case or the activity that led to the criminal proceedings against Hajdari.

The correspondence between SPAK and the CEC comes within the framework of institutional verifications carried out for various entities, based on the legislation on decriminalization and control of the image of persons exercising or aspiring to public functions.

So far, there has been no public reaction from Kreshnik Hajdari regarding the content of the documents published by the Special Prosecution Office.

Meanwhile, Lefter Maliqi, the opposition candidate for the Municipality of Kuçova, in a public reaction emphasizes that Hajdari has hidden a previous conviction in Greece at the time of running for the local elections, demanding that institutions act and justice be served.

According to him, the issue has dragged on for years through procedural maneuvers and a lack of institutional response, while only now has the Central Election Commission (CEC) requested information on Hajdar's legal status.

Maliqi questions the timing of this reaction, emphasizing that the CEC should have intervened in April 2023, when, according to him, the "Together We Win" Coalition had filed evidence and documents for a final criminal decision against Hajdar in Greece.

He states that, if this data had been taken into consideration in time, Hajdar's candidacy should not have been allowed in the May 2023 local elections for the Kuçova Municipality.

In his reaction, Maliqi also accuses of political interference and institutional protection, mentioning the role of Hajdar's lawyer, Theodhori Sollaku, who he says used procedural means to prevent the full disclosure of the case.

According to Maliqi, the mayoral mandate was secured under contested conditions, including the division of the opposition, pressure on supporters, and suspicions of manipulation in the electoral process in Kuçova.

He emphasizes that their request was not for personal dismissal, but for invalidation of the candidacy, since according to him, concealing a criminal conviction constitutes a violation of the law.

His statement also mentions that the case was handled by SPAK and the Special Court, which, according to Maliqi, issued a sentence against Hajdar, which was later converted into community service.

Finally, Maliqi calls on the CEC to no longer delay the process and to request complete information on all phases of the candidacy and consideration of the issue.

"Justice delays, but it does not forget. Anyone who has violated the law and abused their duty will be held accountable," Maliqi said. /Pamphlet/
