The Minister of State for Relations with the Parliament Elisa Spiropali said in an interview for Euronews Albania that the SP will vote on the immunity of Sali Berisha after the Council of Mandates decides and depending on the evidence of SPAK.
Spiropali said that Berisha's challenge to justice is unprecedented, so now he must face a regular legal process.
On December 18, at 12:00, the Council for Regulation, Mandates and Immunity will meet to consider the request of SPAK, which requires the authorization of the Assembly for the arrest of Sali Berisha. This was announced by Speaker Lindita Nikolla.
"The meeting of the Council for Regulation, Mandates and Immunity to consider the request of the Special Prosecution Against Corruption and Organized Crime for the authorization by the Assembly for the arrest/deprivation of the freedom of MP Sali Berisha, through the replacement of the security measure, will takes place on 18.12.2023, at 12.00, in the Presidency of the Assembly" - the announcement states.
