DP MP Jorida Tabaku spoke about the work of the Special Structure. She appreciates that SPAK is showing results, stressing that the appearance of Mayor Erion Veliaj in SPAK is a good moment.
According to her, justice is affecting the high levels and causing officials to fear punishment by the law. Tabaku also added that it is now time to create a system that prevents the phenomenon of corruption.
"SPAK is showing some results and for me the moment when the mayor joined SPAK is a good moment. The good news is that justice applies even when you are in power, I hope to see how this issue will evolve. If we already have the punishment measure and we see that the administration is afraid to sign, is afraid of the law, we have to deal with the prevention part. A structure, an administration that prevents corruption. The cases we have seen of companies with zero capital, with zero assets, with zero income, take tenders, give them to their family members, the case of the municipality of Tirana, the case of the incinerators, are indicators that the law of prosecutions does not work, nor the law of concessions . This structure must change, the establishment of a system that prevents corruption", said Tabaku for "News24".
Unlike a part of the opposition, such as Rithemelimi group, who call SPAK controlled by the government and "party gangs", Tabaku says that she appreciates the work of the Special Prosecutor's Office, but expects justice to move faster.
"I have welcomed the work of SPAK. I have never said that I do not trust SPAK. I expressed support for SPAK to move forward and investigate these affairs. Do I want it to go faster? Yes, I definitely want it to go faster. these examples of punishing corruption become examples for the levels below, so the culture begins and the fear of the law is also installed. The cases we have seen do not need an explanation and a lot of investigation, to be punished by justice because this way I believe we will set an example that whatever happens in the future will be punished", she said further.
