The deputy of the Democratic Party, Jorida Tabaku, has accused the Rama government as she declared that the law on taxation of free professions is being used for an electoral campaign by the government.
Invited to the column 'Opinion' in News24, Tabaku emphasized that she is in favor of taxes, but in this case there is illegality and that there is a risk of mass closure of businesses.
She said that the amendments to this law are expected to take place next year, because there are elections in 2025.
"Law on taxation of free professions. I am for taxes, but there is illegality. The concept of these businesses being small businesses, free professionals is violated. There are 29 thousand of them. They pay tax but now they are being asked to pay extra. They are all people of free professions. Meanwhile, there are promises that the tax on free professions is being used to entice the vote. They say they will adjust the law next year, which coincides with the elections. I had many debates with Mr. Braçe, because I want to distinguish him from the socialists. He says that a job doesn't have to be boring.
It can be abused with these cases, as it can be with doctors. This is part of the government's mistakes, which has made unfair taxation. Today we should have a system that motivates and stimulates work and does not tax it so much. Why are people leaving today? They leave because there is injustice," said Tabaku.
