Member of the National Council of the Democratic Party, Lisandër Hoxha, has analyzed the recent movements within the opposition, commenting on the speeches of Sali Berisha and the meetings of former MP Ervin Salianji. Hoxha emphasized that the Democrats cannot remain only in the role of whistleblowers, but must take concrete political actions.
" We cannot just sit around denouncing. Either we will go out in massive national protests to demand the resignation of the prime minister, or there is no other way. Citizens are tired, they are looking for hope from the DP ," he said, emphasizing the need for a unifying spirit. According to him, the DP should not invent internal enemies and every democrat has the right to meet whoever they want.
Commenting on Salianj's meetings, Hoxha said that he is not trying to take on the role of the PD's reorganizer, but is helping to ignite a "fire" that sets the party in motion. " If there are democrats in Durrës who go to one of his meetings, this shows that there is an organizational problem in the PD ," he said, describing it as normal for different figures to have the support of the base.
He recalled the situation of 2021, when, according to him, Foltorja was born precisely as a reaction to a closed party. “At that time, Basha said that we were not his delegates. The same thing is being repeated. The DP must revitalize itself, not create hostility and not remain hostage to resentment,” Hoxha said. According to him, the artificial inflation of internal situations harms the party and reduces the energy of the democrats.
" It is not taboo for some Democrats to gather and dislike the secretary or the deputy speaker. This energy must be managed, even when it comes from the minority. If it antagonizes him, it does harm ," he declared. Hoxha stressed that the DP's sole objective should be "topple Rama and create a technical government."
