Tonight's guest on the "Incomparable" podcast is the head of the "Thurje" Initiative, Endrit Shabani.
He commented on Prime Minister Rama's meeting in Athens with Albanian immigrants, who said that it is not enough to mention their problems. Shabani adds that Rama is not interested in the vote of the diaspora Albanians as he cannot threaten them with jobs and cannot exercise control over them.
- The gathering was with massive participation, the administration went to Athens, was the participation of Albanian immigrants really as the prime minister propagandized or not?
I don't really know because I wasn't there, but it's interesting to break it down. His speech was emotional, you can hear him talking about the real problems of the Albanians of Greece. But when you stop and listen, you say who is this? Because he should have given that speech in 2013 when he was the leader of the opposition. When you consider that he has been prime minister for 11 years, it is not enough to just mention the problems to them. You have to see what he has done, because this is the role of the state. In fact they have been abandoned.
The prime minister is not only measured by his speeches but by his actions. He must make a balance, from what I have found, the Albanians who are outside Albania have been abandoned by their embassies. Employments in the embassy are often sloppy, they do not respond to or protect the interests of citizens.
-Are you saying that Edi Rama's balance for Albanian immigrants is zero?
The balance is very low, so it is negative. The fact that he went there without being guaranteed or promised when they will have the right to vote would be enough. At least he should have apologized to them for lying to them for 11 years. Regarding the participation, why was it necessary to take them from Albania? This happens because in Greece he cannot get people to threaten them with their jobs, to pay them 50 euros to come to the hall. This is the reason why he is not interested in the Albanians of the diaspora voting since he cannot control them. The fact that the hall is filled with patrons shows that he cannot exercise this control there. This shows how Rama continues to stay in power. So he lies to himself and others and fails to convince them.
