The parliamentary group of the Democratic Party of Reestablishment has given the majority approval for the amnesty, which is expected to be approved in Thursday's Parliament session.
By means of a reaction, the PD group emphasizes that they have requested to exclude from the amnesty all the high officials investigated and tried by the special anti-corruption structures.
The DP group has also proposed an increase in amnesty benefits, requesting a reduction of the sentence by 2 years for women and 1.5 years for men.
We remind you that the approval of the amnesty requires a qualified majority of 84 votes, a majority that the SP did not have and which led to the blocking of its approval.

The Parliamentary Group of the Democratic Party has proposed that all persons tried or investigated for criminal offenses committed during gatherings and demonstrations carried out until March 31, 2024, regardless of the date of their registration, be exempted from punishment and criminal prosecution.
The Parliamentary Group of the Democratic Party has proposed the exemption from amnesty, whether in terms of serving a sentence, reducing the sentence or criminal prosecution, all high-ranking officials investigated and/or tried by special anti-corruption structures or who are subject to the declaration of assets , as deputies or mayors.
The Parliamentary Group of the Democratic Party has proposed an increase in the amount of amnesty benefits, either in terms of reducing the sentence by 2 years for women and 1.5 years for men, or in terms of the date of the sentence, the beginning of the investigation or the commission of the criminal offense until March 31, 2024, from January 31, 2024, as provided for in the current version of the draft law.
