The Secretary General of the Freedom Party, Tedi Blushi, said that the leader of the Freedom Party, Ilir Meta, was not allowed to speak after voting today at the "Jordan Misja" Penitentiary.
Blushi said that it had been agreed that Meta would speak, but when he came out of the cell dressed in red and black, journalists were not allowed to enter the voting premises.
He adds that the prison administration deliberately prevented Ilir Meta from being filmed while he was voting in prison 313. Blushi also said that this is a flagrant case of violation of freedom and human rights.
"On behalf of the Freedom Party, I condemn with the greatest force the flagrant violation of human rights and freedoms, of the Constitution and the European Convention on Human Rights against the President of the Freedom Party, Mr. Ilir Meta, who was not allowed to speak or be filmed like everyone else, at the moment of voting. In respect of the interest of the media, who had requested to be present, in the voting process of the President of the Freedom Party, Mr. Metaj had agreed two days ago with the administration of the IEPV "Jordan Misja", following their request, to vote today at exactly 10:00, as the media had been informed by the prison administration and the Freedom Party itself.
Even today, in the contacts we have had with the prison administration, we were informed that at 10:00, the media would be allowed to participate in the voting process. But as soon as the patronage workers announced that the President of the Parliamentary Freedom Party, Mr. Ilir Meta, came out of the drug-regime cell dressed in Red and Black, the journalists were not allowed to enter the voting center.
This is a flagrant case of violation of freedom and human rights, as long as persons convicted by court decision are allowed to speak and be filmed during the voting process, while the President of the Freedom Party, which from tomorrow will be a parliamentary party with 12 MPs, is denied the right to speak to the media and respond to journalists' inquiries, who is being held in extreme isolation without facts and without criminal evidence and is unconvicted.
The Head of the Organization is horrified by the Red and Black colors in general, but especially by the Red and Black colors of Ilir Meta because they remind him, but above all all patriotic Albanians, of the protection of the Constitution. Because they remind all patriotic Albanians in Albania and around the world of the protection of Kosovo's borders by President Ilir Metaj.
"Edi Rama is also terrified by the live footage of Ilir Metaj because he is terrified of the free vote and the freedom of Albanians. On behalf of the Freedom Party, I invite all patriotic Albanians and red-blacks to vote, vote and only vote. Only the people who fight and vote change! We are a people of eagles and today is the time to prove it like never before," said Blushi.
