The parliamentary session was accompanied by strong tones between the majority and the opposition, where at the center of the debate was the draft law "on freedom of establishment and provision of services", part of the European integration process.
The leader of the Socialist Party parliamentary group, Taulant Balla, addressed the Democratic MPs directly, demanding a clear position regarding the vote on the law. He questioned the opposition's position, emphasizing that the draft law was voted against by its representatives in the committee.
" Will you vote for this law or not? " Balla said, adding that the opposition should be consistent with its statements on supporting laws related to European integration. According to him, the main role of MPs is legislation and exclusion from the processes of approximation of legislation is a problem.
" What problem do you have with this law or is it useless? Let's be fair. You said that when it comes to it, at least in Brussels that you tremble here, when it comes to integration laws, we are ready. Two people have said we will not vote for it. At least let's be honest with each other. Our first duty is to legislate. If you exclude yourself from the laws of approximation of legislation... in the committee you voted against it, this is a fact. To conclude, I think that by the time we vote, I heard that there was a revolt not to participate in the minute of silence for academician Rexhep Qosja, the DP does not deserve this shame ," said Balla.
During his speech, Balla also criticized the Democratic Party's positions on other issues, including reactions regarding a minute of silence for academic Rexhep Qosja. He described any stance against participating in such an act of respect as unacceptable.
The debate also expanded to foreign policy, where Balla responded to MP Tritan Shehu's statements regarding Prime Minister Edi Rama's visit to Barcelona. He harshly criticized the comments made towards international leaders, considering them inappropriate and harmful to the country's image.
" At least, for the important things of Albania, you cannot bring up a person who unfortunately was Foreign Minister and say what you said. Attacking the German Vice Chancellor, the Prime Minister of Spain, the Italian PD, don't do these things now because it's a shame. You're 70-80 years old and you come and say irresponsible things! When the Prime Minister went to Trump, you shouted why he went to Trump, but what did you have? ", said Balla.
According to Balla, Albania currently enjoys a high level of respect in the international arena. In this context, he also mentioned the organization of the NATO summit next year in our country, describing it as an event of particular global importance.
