Democratic Party Chairman Sali Berisha continued his tour of the podium, stopping at a meeting with citizens in Mirdita.
Berisha called the round of meetings the 'bulwark of his life.'
In his speech, the leading democrat attacked Prime Minister Rama as a fierce enemy of the people of Mirdito and Albanians.
" I chose Mirdita to open the curtain with the second rostrum, which, I must say here, is the rostrum of my life. It is the rostrum of my life, it is the rostrum for democracy, for the family, for Albania. If in the first rostrum we together, and I will never forget your reception, we saved the Democratic Party, everything was being done so that Albania was without opposition, or more precisely with opposition, everything was being done so that the opposition would be the ornament of an enemy of the Albanian nation. And a fierce enemy of the Albanian family, of the Albanian being, who is called Edi Rama. Yes, friends, in history there is no cruel conqueror, there is no dictator, there is no regime that has undone the Albanians, the nation, in ten years as Edi Rama ," said Berisha.
During his speech, the leading democrat accused the government of Prime Minister Edi Rama of discriminating against the North in terms of the distribution of investments.
" All the municipalities of the North, taken together, in four years have not received 60 million in investments from the government, a discrimination, an abandonment of the North, which in the overall production gives hundreds of millions of euros, while in the distribution, you see, it stopped time. Without investments in Mirdita, Shkodra, Kukës, Peshkopi... ", said Berisha.
He noted that over the last ten years, Albania has faced a significant demographic contraction, emphasizing that the current population is similar to that of 100 years ago, around 700 thousand people.
" In ten years, we have been more divided than ever in our existence. Today we have that additional population that we had when we were a total of 700 thousand people, 100 years ago. Today Mirdita and Albania have the lowest birth rate in the world due to immigration, " added the leading democrat.
