Democratic Party MP Jorida Tabaku reacted after the start of the new school year, emphasizing that in the last 5 years there have been 61,000 fewer students in the classroom.
Tabaku states that this is the most painful reflection of the demographic crisis the country is going through, as he lists the decline in the birth rate and emigration as factors.
The Democratic MP emphasized that the government is trying to cover it up with propaganda and digital science fiction projects.
She added that the decline in the birth rate is a consequence of a system that does not offer security.
"While the emotions of the first day of school have passed, the stubborn numbers speak of a sad, almost tragic reality."
-In the last 5 years alone, there have been 61,000 fewer students in school.
-In a decade, the decline is 31% – a full 112 thousand students fewer than when the Socialists came to power.
A crisis of a nation that is shrinking and fading day by day. In almost 70 administrative units there are less than 100 children. With each passing day, Albania loses a little of its future.
The decline in fertility is a consequence of a system that does not offer security: increased prices, job insecurity, economic insecurity, insecurity in daily life. Albania is aging before it develops.
Empty schools are the most painful reflection of this reality. As emigration erodes the country, the government tries to cover it up with propaganda and digital science fiction projects. A country torn between emptying villages and an overcrowded Tirana is a country doomed to lose the battle with the future.
"That's why our battle is every day against this unjust system. Because it strikes at the roots of the family and the future of Albania," Tabaku writes in reaction.
