The Education Committee met to review the draft law on AKSHA, in a hearing with the Minister of Education, Mirela Kumbaro. The meeting was chaired by Democratic Party MP, Luciano Boçi, who shifted the focus of the discussion to a specific case related to the working conditions of teachers in remote areas.
At the beginning of the session, Boçi brought to attention the death of teacher Alban Bejleri, an event that occurred on April 16 while returning from work. According to the data presented, the teacher traveled about 8 kilometers every day to teach a lesson with only two students in the village of Marjan, starting from Lozhani.
The MP linked this case to the lack of institutional support for teachers in rural areas, demanding a concrete response from the Ministry of Education. He emphasized that the case is not isolated and represents a work model that is repeated in several areas of the country.
At the end of his discussion, Boçi requested that the committee observe a minute of silence in honor of the teacher, while the debate on the draft law then continued on the agenda.
"It is not simply a death in the line of duty, but a slow and insidious murder that the system commits against teachers," said Boçi, accusing institutions of negligence and lack of support for the figure of the teacher.
