The Central Election Commission has requested a review of the deadlines for overseas voters to file a complaint with the court in cases where they find that they are not on the voter list or their registration is inaccurate.
Through a letter sent to 9 parliamentary parties and the Speaker of Parliament Elisa Spiropali, the head of the CEC, Ilirjan Celibashi, has presented the Electoral Commission's request that the current deadline of 7 days be increased to at least 30 days.
The CEC considers the 7-day deadline insufficient for the timely return of the ballot from the emigrant to the CEC.
The request can be submitted to the Court of First Instance of General Jurisdiction in Tirana or online through an electronic platform approved by the High Judicial Council.
