Kristaq Kume, former Chairman of the CEC, commenting on the diaspora vote in the May 11 elections, considered it a sensitive issue, while adding that this is being used to demonstrate the commitment of the leaders of the main parties, Edi Rama and Sali Berisha, in the electoral process.
In the News24 studio, Kume said that it seems that politics is only dealing with the diaspora vote without focusing on any other aspect of it.
"What did they do in the last 3 years? They said they were doing a lot and they only did the diaspora vote, and they sell it as a product made with a lot of sacrifices and very important for the people. This is their way of behaving and it is unacceptable," Kume said.
He emphasized that the moment had now come when it was convenient for political parties to include the diaspora vote in the Electoral Code, using it as a tool for political gain.
