Details have emerged from the meeting of the Council of Mandates and Immunity, where SPAK's request to lift Belinda Balluku's immunity was discussed.
It is learned that the head of the Socialist Party Parliamentary Group, Taulant Balla, has today brought to attention a previous precedent.
Balla referred to the case of Lulzim Basha, when the latter held the position of Minister of Transport, and a request for investigation was filed against him regarding the Durrës-Kukës road issue. He said that this request had arrived at the Assembly on October 15, 2007, but was reviewed and voted on in plenary session only on December 27, that is, after 75 days.
According to Balla, this shows that the Assembly historically has room for in-depth assessment and is not obliged to act within a few days, as the opposition and SPAK are demanding today.
On the other hand, it is learned that the leader of the DP group, Gazment Bardhi, has proposed that the USB evidence for Belinda Balluku be initialed on every page by SPAK, while the prosecutors at the end of the meeting have told them that this cannot be done. After this response, Balla has re-proposed that the Assembly initial it.
But, in the end, the Council members received the evidence unsealed.
