Edi Rama's "Socialist Party" has received 65 million lek in funding, while Endri Shabani's "Nisma Thurje" has received 860 thousand lek.
The Central Election Commission (CEC) has today distributed the funds that will go to political parties for the campaign for the parliamentary elections of May 11. In total, the CEC has distributed 1.3 million euros in public funds, with the largest amount going to the Socialist Party (SP) with 65,291,390 lek, while the Democratic Party (DP) received 44,818,545 lek.
According to the CEC decision, the funds were distributed based on the parliamentary representation of the parties:
Socialist Party (SP) – 65 million lek
Democratic Party (DP) – 44 million lek
Freedom Party (PL) – 9 million lek
Social Democratic Party (PSD) – 3 million lek
Republican Party (PR) – 2.6 million lekë
Movement for National Development (LZHK) – 890 thousand lek
PDIU – 1.7 million lek
HRDP – 890 thousand lek
PAA – 890 thousand lek
PLL – 890 thousand lek
Knitting Initiative – 860 thousand lek
This funding aims to support parties during the election campaign, as the political race for the May 11 elections is now heading into an important phase.
A total of 53 parties will compete in the May 11 elections, with some of them participating for the first time.
