Iris Luarasi, who ran for MP on the closed list of the Socialist Party in the Tirana District, commented on the surprising result achieved by this party, which is projected to receive 83-84 mandates.
On the show "The Unexposed," Luarasi said that she herself did not expect this result, but added that it comes as a result of the lack of an alternative to the SP, but also the quarrels of small parties with each other, which prevented them from factoring in and creating a new pole.
"I personally did not expect this result. I was sure that 74, 75, 76 mandates would be obtained, but I did not think that it would exceed 80 mandates. I did not think logically that after 12 years, a political force must pay a cost and if it did not obtain them in 2013, I think that they cannot be obtained, but the result showed the opposite of what I thought. I think there are many reasons for this.
I thought the SP was the winner, because even with 76 mandates it was an important victory. The main reason is that there is a divided opposition, without a list for May 11 but for May 12. Normally you have to have a very good offer on the market for people to leave the ruling party to go to another option, I saw this yesterday.
I was confident and you looked at the trend of people, the voting percentages. What changes in most democratic countries is when you see an extraordinary number of voters. The fact that there were 42% who cast their vote, it was clear that we would have the same governing force.
"And another element, the new parties, unfortunately, now I am not speaking as a representative of the SP, but as someone who is doing a political analysis, they did not manage to create a spirit and create a pole. The small parties crushed each other. The DP or the SP did not deal with the Albania Becomes Movement or the Opportunity Party, they dealt with each other. Their statements, Adriatik Lapaj and Mr. Shehaj, massacred each other and it was one of the trends on social networks. Berisha and Rama were not motivated enough to deal with the small parties, because they damaged each other," said Luarasi.
