MP Dashamir Shehi, head of the LZHK, invited to the "Quo Vadis" studio on Vizion Plus, spoke about the coalition of the party he leads with Enkelejd Alibeaj's Right 1912.
Asked by moderator Borakaj why he "risked" forming a coalition with Alibeaj, at a time when he could have been on a safe list for the DP, Shehi said that he made this move to stand up against all those who are holding Albania hostage. He stressed that he still has hope for a union with other political forces.
Excerpts from the conversation:
Borakaj: You have started preparations for the elections. You have created a coalition with the Right 1912, why this movement, when they could have been on a safe list with the DP?
Shehi: With risk without risk, this is the way to change some things. I do not claim to overturn the situation, but these are the possibilities. I believe that the Albanian opposition has only one path, to set in motion the entire gray electorate, who no longer identify with the Berisha-Meta group. I have nothing to do with the DP. We all come from the DP, but this situation is no longer going to work, anyone with a normal reason understands it very well. It cannot come once, twice or three times. The opposition leadership can solve its own problems, but if we want to defeat Rama, we must mobilize the rest of the opposition.
Borakaj: Why did you choose Right 1912?
Shehi: We didn't just choose these, it's a process, this is not over, we can join forces with others.
Borakaj: Do you have any exclusion criteria?
Shehi: We are united by two things, all opposition parties. We are united by the fight against Rama's autocracy and the corruption of the Socialist Party. Within our group, they agreed with Rama to close the list. Yesterday I heard some bitter news that they don't even want to do electronic voting, they want to leave us in their hands. We are also divided by the relationship with the new justice system, the issue with SPAK, because it is the only one that has done something. These are against it, they call it a criminal organization. The third is the approach to the international community. We are a center-right party, once upon a time we were friends with the US, now the opposition is carrying everyone on its back for its own troubles. Then the program for agriculture, and if you add up the salaries from the Socialist Party to the far right, they are right there.
