The election process for the head of the DP branch in Korça has begun with tensions and clashes.
Initial reports suggest that the commissioners assigned to administer the process were involved in the conflict after disagreements over the member lists. This led to the parties clashing, while the Commission took the ballot boxes and left. It is not known what will happen to the process, but it seems that the tensions in the Korça branch reflect the tensions and clashes created over several exclusions that have been made in recent weeks.
In the race for the head of the Korça branch are Irvin Ilia Bode and Harito Llazar Zoto.
The whole incident occurs at a time when a debate has begun in the DP regarding the procedures and the way in which this political force organized the process for electing its leader, while the only one who has been accepted as a candidate is Sali Berisha.
All those who submitted requests to be part of the process were not accepted with the arguments that they are not members of the DP, or their public and political profile is low.
With these arguments, the candidacy of Ervin Salianj was not accepted either, for whom Berisha has declared that he has self-excluded himself from the DP, while every one of his supporters in the branches of this political force has left the structures or membership.
