Defense Minister Pirro Vengu, when asked about the recent controversy over the lack of Albanian aircraft to fight fires, said, contrary to Prime Minister Rama's response, that the aircraft are in the process of being purchased. He further added that the lack of pilots to fly these aircraft is also an obstacle.
He said that the Gramsh outbreak has been contained and today there is no spread, while emphasizing that there are several outbreaks in the Finiq municipality and 1 other in Tirana, outside of residential areas, which is being monitored.
"What we need to do is find the pilots for the planes, for which the purchase procedures have been completed, so we have also opened an aviation school. The planes are being purchased, they need to be produced to come to Albania, it is a process that takes time, everything is transparent, we have not made disbursements because we have not signed a contract ," said Minister Vengu.
