Lapaj's lawsuit against KAS and CEC, Electoral College postpones session

The Electoral College at the Tirana Court has postponed until August 25 the review of the lawsuit that Adriatik Lapaj filed against KAS and the CEC, seeking the mandate of the MP from the "Albania Initiative" coalition.

The August 25th session will be held at 10:00 a.m. The reason for the postponement of the session was the absence of two judges due to annual leave.

The head of the political entity, Adriatik Lapaj, filed his appeal on August 4, filing it with the Tirana Administrative Court of Appeal, where the Electoral College is also located.

He is not giving up his mandate as an MP, which he says he won in the May 11 parliamentary elections for the Tirana district, by appealing the decisions of the CEC and the KAS through a lawsuit.

A few days ago, the KAS and the CEC overthrew him, not only leaving MP Lapaj without a mandate, but also removing the mandate from his cousin Kleana Xhuveli and giving it to Ana Dajko.

Lapaj is seeking to be recognized as the winner of the open list with the preferential votes of citizens for the Tirana district. He is also seeking to have the revocation of the resignations on July 15 and 17 by Zeqir Kordhoni, Endri Shabani's uncle, who was the first to claim that his signature on his resignation should have been verified because he did not remember Kleana Xhuveli, whom the CEC declared the winner, not recognized as valid.

The KAS decided on July 30 that the only mandate won by NSHB in the Tirana district would be given to the first candidate on the closed list, Ana Dajko.

According to KAS, Celibashi's decision (July 23) that had given a mandate to Kleana Xhuveli, ranked 4th on the subject's closed list, was overturned and returned the mandate to the first on this list, Ana Dajko.
