The north of Kosovo has not found peace even in the last night, writes the media of Kosovo.
Two shock bombs were thrown in the northern Mitrovica area and according to the deputy director of the Kosovo Police in Northern Mitrovica, Veton Elshani, one was thrown near the police station and the other near a technical school.
The day before, on Friday, members of the Serbian community protested in front of the building of the municipality of Leposaviq, where the teams of journalists who were reporting the visit of the Minister of Local Government Administration, Elbert Krasniqi, were stationed. But yesterday, Kosovo journalists say they suffered from the worst attacks by Serbian gangs.
People with masks threw stones at them, physically beat them and 9 journalists and cameramen were injured. On the other hand, the chief negotiator of the Serbian side, Petar Petkovic, spoke in Vucic's language. During a media conference, he added that the escalation of the situation is not entirely in Serbia's hands, inviting the international community to "stop Prime Minister Albin Kurti, because if this does not happen, there is nothing to talk about".
"It's all because of Kurt and his cracked head and his moves where he wants to set the whole region on fire. His aim is to start a war, not only in the north but in the entire region".
Even this Saturday, trucks with Serbian goods continue to wait at customs to enter Serbia. The tensions started on May 26, when the new Albanian mayors of the municipalities in the north, under the assistance of the Kosovo Police, entered the buildings, amid the objections of the local Serbs. They culminated on May 29, when in Zveçan, Serbian protesters clashed with members of the NATO mission in Kosovo, KFOR, and dozens of people from both sides were injured.
On June 13, the Kosovo police carried out an action in North Mitrovica, where they arrested Millun Millenkovic, as a suspect one of the organizers of the events in Zveçan on May 29. The day after, Serbia arrested the three Kosovo policemen, whom they kept in custody, despite the appeals of the internationals.
