Journalist Baton Haxhiu stated that 2024 could be the year of elections, if Prime Minister Albin Kurti does not form the Association.
Haxhiu said that if he does not make the Association, Kurti has no other way but the elections.
"If in March he does not take the Association, he has no other way but to lead the country to elections, because Kosovo will be isolated with sanctions. Sanctions are not removed because they are a substitute for visa liberalization, the liberalization has been granted", said Haxhiu in Pressing, Express broadcasts.
"There is no chance for elections in the spring, but I believe that June and July can be", Haxhiu said about the possible months of holding the elections.
"There are two possibilities, Kurti will take the mandate to the end with the Association approved by the Government and the Constitutional Court since March, or live with sanctions until the next elections, which he needs very soon", he said to "Pressing".
Also regarding the new recognitions of Kosovo, he said that Greece and Romania can recognize Kosovo, but not Spain and Cyprus, which have declared that they will not do so.
Haxhiu did not mention Slovakia, a European Union country that has not yet recognized Kosovo.
"If Kosovo enters a process where the Government takes the Association and sends it to the Constitutional Court. I think that Greece and Romania can recognize Kosovo, other countries do not. I believe that we know that Spain and Cyprus have said that they do not recognize him", said Haxhiu.
