Deputy Prime Minister Besnik Bislimi has given a "slap" to the European Union Envoy for the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue, Miroslav Lajçak, saying that he has abandoned the role of mediator and that he has contributed to the non-implementation of the Brussels agreement.
According to Bislim, Lajçak was the first person to renounce this agreement and went from the agreement for the normalization of relations to the agreement for the Association.
"We are not interested in it [the agreement] being dead, but implemented. My fear is that there is an awareness in the EU that with this Serbian president there can be no implementation of agreements, and what is being done is damage control. Damage control means that when the deal is deemed dead, no one points the finger at Mr. Lajçak as a mediator. We think that Lajçak has contributed a lot to getting to this point where we are, of non-implementation, with the fact that he has let go of his role as a mediator and is dealing with decision-making that is very dangerous and wrong. And with the fact that he, with the way he envisioned the next steps, was the first person to renounce the Brussels agreement, or the transition from a normalization agreement to an Association agreement, which is very dangerous."Bislimi said.
He also stated that Kosovo has continuously warned Lajcak to return to the role of mediator.
"We have continuously warned you, return to your role as a mediator and build an implementation plan that is balanced and fair, not a plan that accommodates Vucic's demands or bullying," said Bislimi .
