Blocking the border points, Kosovo appeals to the West: Stop Vučić, before he

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kosovo, Donika Gërvalla, has called on the European Union and the United States of America to take measures against the president of Serbia, Aleksandër Vucic.

"He must be stopped before entering the war" , Gërvalla wrote on Twitter yesterday evening.

After the blockades by dozens of Serbian citizens of the three border points, who are protesting against the decisions of the Kosovar authorities in the north of Kosovo, Gërvalla said that Serbia has a hand in this event.

"Beyond the border in Bernjak, masked Serbs are stopping cars with German registration and not letting Albanians pass. Vucic's police are supporting this racist escalation, watching and doing nothing. Kosovo will keep the border closed until free movement is guaranteed and Albanians are safe from the worst scenes of masked Serbian criminals who follow and threaten them again. We call on the EU and the US to firmly oppose Vucic's next escalating steps. He must be stopped before entering the war" , she writes.

Earlier, the Minister of Internal Affairs, Xelal Sveçla, announced the closure of the border point in Bërnjak. According to Svecla, a family that was traveling from Kosovo to Germany was not allowed to travel and was forcibly turned back.

Sveçla said that these actions are fascist, as he adds that they are happening in front of the eyes of the Serbian Police, whom he called complicit.

Other roads in Serbia, leading to the border crossing points with Kosovo in Merdar and Jarinje, were blocked on Friday afternoon by groups protesting against the decisions of the Kosovo authorities in the north of Kosovo.

Serbian citizens who have entered Kosovo from the border crossing point in Jarinje have said that they are being asked for documents.

The blockade was warned by the "Council for the Blockade of Serbia" after the Kosovo Police closed 5 offices of parallel structures in the north on suspicion of falsification of documents.

In the action of August 30, the offices of four parallel municipalities were closed: Mitrovica, Leposavic, Zubin-Potok and Zveçan, as well as the District Office of Mitrovica.

After the blockade warning, Kosovo institutions have called on citizens to avoid crossing from Serbia. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has asked citizens to avoid transit through border crossings with Serbia.
