Endrit Shala

The Basic Court in Pristina has sentenced former Minister of Trade and Industry, Endrit Shala, to 2 years in prison for conflict of interest. The trial panel dismissed the charge of abuse of office but found him guilty of conflict of interest.

According to media in Kosovo, Shala favored his cronies, enabling them to make an illegal profit worth over 700 thousand euros.

According to the court, Shala favored his cronies, Valdet Teneqja, by giving his company the right to conduct inspections of the quality of petroleum products in Kosovo.

The prosecution claims that this decision brought the company financial benefits of more than 732 thousand euros. For this reason, the court found Shala guilty of conflict of interest.
