The American congressman, Ritchie Torres, reacted to the speech of Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic yesterday, who demanded the restoration of the previous situation in the north of Kosovo, the holding of new elections, the return of Serbs to the police and the departure of Kosovo's special forces. .
Through a post on the "X" social network, Torres said that Serbia's request for Kosovo to return to the "status quo ante" (previous state) will never be fulfilled and that Kosovo's independence is irreversible.
He emphasizes that Vucic is on the wrong side of history and that there will be no violation of sovereignty in Kosovo as the US will not allow it.
"Serbia is demanding that Kosovo surrender its sovereignty and return to the "status quo ante". There will be no such return. Kosovo is an independent country and will remain so forever, helped by its greatest friend: the United States of America. History is on the side of Kosovo's independence. Aleksandër Vucic is on the wrong side of history" , writes the American congressman.
