Asked by journalists if a decision will be taken on the occupation of the northern municipalities by Kosovo, the president of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, said that this decision has not been taken because it would bring a series of unacceptable consequences, such as the recognition of Kosovo as an independent state .
" Our legal experts were absolutely against ," said Vucic about the option to declare an occupation of a part of Serbia's territory by Kosovo.
Reading the reasons why the declaration of occupation was not made, he said that some rules for occupation can be applied by analogy.
" If the occupation were to be declared, the armed groups of Albanians in Kosovo would be recognized as a legal armed force ", said Vučič, adding that this is the main reason against the declaration of the occupation.
He said that it is very important that the legalization and legitimization of Kosovo does not happen.
" Occupation is possible only in international armed conflicts, which would mean that we recognize the territory of the Republic of Kosovo as the territory of another state. That's why we are not taking measures to declare the occupation ", concluded Vucic.
