The former Prime Minister of Kosovo, Isa Mustafa, has accused Prime Minister Albin Kurti of escalating the situation in the country.
He stated that Kurti is creating an international reaction and according to him, he is trying to gain points to escalate the situation. Mustafa stated that Kurti cannot escape the implementation of the mutual agreement with Serbia, while he added that the Ohrid Agreement is more harmful than the one of 2013.
" The problem is that Mr. Kurti is tensing the situation in the north, but not only the north, he is creating a tension in the situation, he is creating an international reaction regarding this and then in some form he wants to get the point for escalation, for a situation that did not need to be tensed, there was no need to bring all those police forces to the north, there was no need for the mayors of the municipalities in the north to be installed in their offices with special police units, because it is not the Special Unit of the Kosovo Police to put mayors in office, but they have a different role, and now what this means is a completely different matter", he said .
The former chairman of the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) has said that the situation in the north of the country has been complicated since last year, when there was talk about vehicle license plates and then, according to him, with the taking of various measures in the north of the country, uncoordinated with the international ones.
He declared that the prime minister cannot escape the implementation of the mutual recognition agreement with Serbia, through the actions of escalating the situation in the north.
"It has been a practice in the north of the country, there have been large interventions, they have been done with compliance or with a coordination with the Americans and the countries of the Quint, also with the international community in general with NATO and KFOR and they have been absent this time, why they have been absent, Mr. Kurti must give a reason and explanation as to why we have come to this situation in Brussels and Ohrid to accept a situation which was not at all foreseen to be done earlier, because it was foreseen to make an agreement for mutual recognition, a final and security stability agreement, let's say temporary that ensures a status quo that was done there, but it was done and accepted by Mr. Kurti. Therefore, Mr. Kurti cannot escape the implementation of this agreement through various actions to escalate the situation in the north of the country,", he underlines.
