A protest was held in Pristina against KESCO's request to increase electricity tariffs. The rally started near the KEDS building and ended in front of the Kosovo Government.
The protesters marched in an organized manner and unfurled banners with messages opposing the increase in electricity prices and the role of the supply company. The banners were placed on the steps of the Government building, after which the participants dispersed.

During the protest in front of the KEDS building, red smoke was released, and the Police arrested an elderly person who was protesting. The rally was organized by the Collective for Feminist Thought and Action in collaboration with the organization "Përpjekja".

Activist Qendresa Hyseni stated that the protest aims to stop the 21.3 percent increase in electricity tariffs, requested by KESCO. She emphasized that a positive decision by the Energy Regulatory Office will directly affect the cost of living of citizens.

There have also been reactions against this request from the Youth of the Democratic Party of Kosovo. On Thursday, they held a symbolic action in front of the Ministry of Economy, where activists held electricity bills in their hands under the slogan "Energy is not a luxury."

ERO is expected to make a decision during March regarding KESCO's request and the possibility of increasing electricity tariffs.
