Employees of Radio Television of Kosovo (RTK) have launched a general strike due to non-payment of salaries. The strike will take place every day from 11:00 to 13:00, with the suspension of work in all sectors of RTK.
The RTK Workers' Union has emphasized that this step comes after unheard demands and the risk of RTK's non-functioning due to the salary freeze.
Likewise, the Radio Kosovo Trade Union Association has announced a one-hour strike in front of the Radio Kosovo building and has demanded that the authorities take urgent measures to secure salaries and guarantee the continuation of RTK's work without obstacles.
The unions have warned that the strike will continue until the budget for RTK is approved and, if there is no solution, they will organize protests in front of the Government and the Parliament. In the absence of a solution, the failure of RTK's public mission and the interruption of programs are at risk.
