In Zubin Potok, a municipality with a Serbian majority in the north, the Kosovo police have started work on the construction of the police station.
The station will be built in the vicinity of the "Jovan Cvijiq" primary school, while it is known that the start of the works has caused dissatisfaction among the local residents.
Veton Elshani, the spokesperson of the Kosovo Police for the North, has said that it is a matter of a decision of 2018 and now the approval for the start of the works has been received.
Elshani has shown that until now they have been operating in private homes.
"Since we were in a private house, the decision was made in 2018, we got the approval to start building now, otherwise the decision was made earlier", said Elshani, while confirming that the police containers will be placed there first.
"Since the police station is currently located in a private house, we have to leave and for this reason we are placing containers until this station is built", said Elshani.
