Shkruar nga PamfletiThe United States has called on Kosovo and Serbia to urgently and seriously commit to fulfilling the obligations arising from the dialogue they are developing.
These calls were made while commenting on the recent meetings of the Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, and the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, with European leaders.
"We welcome the meetings held to advance the normalization process," says the State Department's response to VOA. "We continue to strongly support dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia, with the mediation of the European Union, as the only way that will ensure their peaceful and productive relations and fulfill their aspirations for membership in the bloc," the State Department said . .
The five QUINT countries presented last Saturday in Pristina and Belgrade a new "modern" plan, including the draft of the Association, which was also the main point of Kurti and Vucic's discussions with European leaders on Thursday in Brussels.
After the failure to reach an agreement on the implementation of the plan presented by the five QUINT countries, Borrelli through a statement to the media said that this happened because of the preconditions that the parties have imposed on each other.
But according to the communique of the Government of Kosovo, Kurti was ready to sign the Basic Agreement, stressing that the European Council Summit in Brussels is the right event and place to do so. Kurti has expressed readiness to sign the draft offered by the EU and the USA for the implementation of Article 7 in connection with Article 10 of the Basic Agreement, which talks about the self-management of the Kosovo Serbs. According to the executive, Vuçiçi has refused to sign an agreement with Kosovo, and has requested to accept a side letter with which he cancels three principles of the Basic Agreement, of the Implementation Annex, as well as of the draft proposed by the five emissaries on 21 October.
Meanwhile, Vučiči said that Kurti "used a good trick" during the meeting in Brussels, as he says, the Prime Minister of Kosovo wants to buy time since he does not want to do anything from the agreements reached in the agreement.
