We do not discuss operational issues. This is a little different than in Albania, we don't discuss our plans. I can say that we have enough police. If we don't have it in the North, we have it at the border. Our reactions will depend on the situation. We have the plans. Banjska has shown such a case, but we reacted very quickly. We caught them by surprise with our reaction. In case of need, we react. We have a high number of policemen.
What happened at the weekend in the North?
Citizens have been warned that there would be a blockage in the movement of people. Two border points were blocked. The moment the first citizen was detained, he returned there again and we closed the border. It is an interesting situation, because the people who go to Serbia the most are the citizens of the North. Kosovars, but also people of Serbian ethnicity. The damage is to the citizens and we are very sorry, but we have taken the necessary measures.
Do you encounter resistance or difficulties with the Serbs in the North?
We have no difficulties. We have a fairly good communication and cooperation with the citizens, but politics is what guides these people. Especially health or education structures. When they get an order, they have to do that action and we understand those cases. We have no damage.
Are there exponents of the Serbian list causing you trouble in the North?
I can't say something with that, because if there are such cases, then they are under investigation and I can't talk about it.
Does something change in Kosovo when the Special Prosecutor's Office announces 45 charges against the people who attacked in Banjska?
No, nothing has changed. They have been wanted, if we see them, we arrest them. They are not in Kosovo. If we receive any information then we act. Everything is fine.

Does the Kosovo police control the border with Serbia or both together? Is there a difference between 2018 and 2024 with the situation in the North?
We have joint patrols at the border. We coordinate with KFOR, but we also have special patrols as the Kosovo police. We have very good communication with KFOR. We are equal partners. As for the difference with the situation, I cannot make a comparison before 2022. I have come here in 2022. It is like night with light. Let's not go into more details. The difference between 2022 and now is very big.
In the North of Kosovo, the largest percentage of those who stay are policemen of the state of Kosovo, or of KFOR?
We are responsible for the security of the country. Then we have KFOR here as a partner. Normally, we have good cooperation with them for the border. But the responsibility is ours.
When there are such statements from the Serbian side, is there an increase in vigilance?
Any information that comes to the North or about the North we take seriously.

We have a very good cooperation with the citizens of the country. But we also have the orders of our state, which we follow.
